Position description
The Departments of Critical Care Medicine and Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine at Mayo Clinic in Arizona are jointly seeking a fellowship trained Critical Care Anesthesiologist. The position includes an academic appointment with the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and candidates should have a strong commitment to an academic career in anesthesiology and critical care medicine. This academic position involves active participation in education, research, and the clinical practice. Clinical responsibilities will be divided equally between anesthesiology and critical care. Candidates must be board eligible or board certified in both Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine.
The Department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine provides adult care in the comprehensive management of anesthesia for surgical, diagnostic and therapeutic procedures as well as pre- and postoperative care of these patients. We have a growing neuroanesthesia practice and provide services for solid organ transplantation, cardiothoracic, vascular, and other general and surgical subspecialty cases for a complex and often high a cuity patient population.
The ICU at Mayo Clinic in Arizona is a vigorous 30 bed unit that cares for a broad spectrum of medical and surgical critical illnesses including solid organ transplant patients, BMT and stem cell transplant patients, cardiovascular surgery and advanced heart failure patients, ECMO, neurosciences critical care, and medical-surgical critical care. Candidates with a strong track record of clinical research with an equally strong desire to advance these programs at Mayo Clinic are encouraged to apply.
