Required Qualifications: Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain a government security clearance provider shall maintain appropriate licensure (a valid, current, full and unrestricted license to practice anesthesiology in any state within the United States, District of Columbia or the Common-Wealth of Puerto Rico) and certification throughout the term of this contract. CRNA shall maintain a valid, current, full and unrestricted DEA license and maintain certification throughout the term of the contract. Must have thirty-six (36) months of certif! ied registered nurse anesthetists experience, with a minimum o! f twelve months (12) in the specialty required by the contract. Completed residency training and experience in General Anesthesiology. Must be board eligible or board certified with the American Board of Anesthesiology. If the provider is to perform outside the normal training parameters of his/her specialty, the provider shall provide certification of hospital privileges in those additional field/s of practice Current Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) are mandatory. Scheduling Details: Works shifts as arranged by Acting Chief of Anesthesiology. Tour of Duty: 7:00 am to 3:30 pm with a 30 minute lunch break, Monday through Friday, Forty (40) per week, Call-Back Hours and Overtime Hours after 3:30 pm. Overtime: Contractor shall be subject to working longer hours if patient load demands are present and rotating shifts to provide coverage in the Inpatient Department. We! eknight On-Call/Standby Hours: 15.5 Hours per night, 3:30 pm to 7:00 am, Monday through Friday. Weekend On- Call/Standby Hours: Twenty-four (24) Hours per day. Duties include, but are not limited to the following: Work under the general technical, administrative supervision of the Chinle Comprehensive Health Care Facility (CCHCF) Acting Chief of Anesthesiology or his designee. Administers various types of anesthetics to render patients insensitive to pain during operation and other procedures. Reviews the history and examines the patient to determine the degree of surgical risk and ascertain the type of pre-anesthetic sedation to be ordered. Selects the anesthetic best adapted to the patient\'s condition and advises and consults with surgeon regarding the patient\'s condition and the risk involved. Observe patients and monitors equipment and adverse reactions during anesthesia, advises surgeon or condition and initiates remedial. Checks the patient for post-anesthesia compl! ications and administers the treatment he/she determines as indicated. ! Completes necessary records of anesthetic administers; pre and post-anesthesia medications; his/her judgment of condition of patient prior to anesthesia, throughout anesthesia, and at close of operation. Provides consultation on difficult cases to practitioners in the same or other specialties. Provides supervision and teaching to medical practitioners, residents and students on the most complex patients. Makes appropriate referrals and obtains appropriate consultations after primary complete evaluation and documentation is complete. Assures preparation of appropriate medical records for all patients seen to assure the accumulation and organization of all pertinent clinical data needed to provide comprehensive medical care. Dictates clinical reports and correspondence concerning patients under his/her care to physicians, hospitals, and other individuals and facilities in a timely fashion. Clinical data reports for the records of each patient shall be maintained in complianc! e with JCAHO standards. CRNA shall provide direct patient care services under the terms of this contract, appropriate and timely medical services in accordance with the standards of care established by recognized medical care organizations and in accordance with the policies and procedures of Service Unit\'s Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules and Regulations, including attendance at department and medical staff meetings. CRNA shall follow all appropriate federal and locally required Information Technology security requirements and will be operating under HIPAA and Privacy Act regulations. CRNA will be subject to peer review per Joint Commission standards.
