Description: Tucson Medical Center is at present looking to employ Surgical Technician L & D right now, this occupation will be designated in Arizona. Labor & Delivery is a 28 bed high risk antepartum and intrapartum unit including 14 LDR beds, 10 antepartum outpatient beds, and 4 preop/postop beds. We care for t! riage patients; ante-partum patients; intrapartum, and preop and postop patients. We are a staff comprised of Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, OB Techs, Patient Care Techs, Surgical Techs, Unit Associates, MA's and ORAs. We have available wonderful providers and support staff on our unit including 24 hour perinatologists, neonatologists, and anesthesiologists. Our goal is to give safe and compassionate care. We strive to make sure our patients and families have a positive experience in the birth of their child. The Surgical Technician performs preoperative procedures such as selection and placement of surgical instruments, supplies and equipment. Scrubs and assists surgical team in donning of gowns and gloves. Provides instruments, sutures and other sterile supplies during operative procedures. Drapes patient for surgical procedure.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
EDUCATION : High school diploma or GED.
EXPERIENCE: One (1) year of! surgical assistance experience.
LICENSURE OR CERTIFICA! TION: Basic Life Support (CPR) certificate. Surgical Technician Certification strongly preferred.
