From the exceptional service at the check-in counter to the departure gate, and even behind the scenes making sure your checked bags arrive with you, our Airport Operations team keeps operations at our airports running smoothly every single day.

Key Responsibilities:

Provides operational oversight of an assigned region of business partner operated Regional Line Stations. Supports business partner managers in achieving operational goals. Validates that business partners have the trained resources and staffing to efficiently implement against the published flight schedule. Drives consistency across portfolio of stations to ensure a flawless customer experience across the network, by ensuring compliance with United's training, established service standards, and operational metrics. Liaison with stations, Network Operation Center and Hub Station Operation Center(s) during significant irregular operations effecting stations and/or region. Proactively advocates for their stations to internal partners to improve the passenger and employee experience. Establishes and maintains successful relationships with the Airport Authority at each of their locations.

  • Ensures compliance with safety, operational performance, service standards, security and training across a portfolio of stations
  • Cultural leader and Customer and Employee champion
  • Leads and encourages business partner employees to promote and develop ownership and pride for the United brand
  • Develops relationships with the airport authorities and regulatory agencies within their assigned region
  • Supports new station start-ups, business partner transitions and station closures within their assigned region
  • Ensure stations are prepared for and successfully operate during periods of high volumes and/or large scale events
  • Advocates on behalf of their stations to Corporate Real Estate, the NOC and other internal departments
  • Continuously identifies new ways to contribute and to position the station, region and organization for success

Qualifications

What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):

  • 3+ years of Airport Operations management experience
  • Adept relationship building experience
  • Experience driving performance, implementing initiatives and/or projects with measurable results
  • Airport Operations experience
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Credibility and respect with peers, subordinates and superiors
  • Demonstrated leadership consistent with the United leadership model
  • Must be willing and able to travel up to 50% domestically
  • Must be willing and able to work any shift within 24 hour/day, 7 day/week operation including nights, weekends and holidays as needed
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
  • Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
  • Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position

What will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications):

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Relevant work experience will receive equal consideration
  • 5 years of experience as a line station/Regional Line Station General Manager
  • Knowledge of key Airport Operations performance, finance, safety, AO Balanced Scorecard, and resource planning activities and metrics or previous experience supporting an operating group
  • Strong vendor management background experience
  • Process improvement experience

The salary for this position is $81,520.00 to $119,570.00, dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience, education and skills. This range is based on a full-time schedule.
