Each day staff comes to work to use their skills and expertise to improve the health of the entire community, from birth to the end of life. Description We are a 28 bed high risk antepartum and intrapartum unit including 14 LDR beds, 10 antepartum outpatient beds, and 4 preop/postop beds. We care for triage patients; anteâ€"partum patients; intrapartum, and preop and postop patients.

We are a staff comprised of Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, OB Techs, Patient Care Techs, Unit Associates, MA's and ORAs. We have available wonderful providers and support staff on our unit including 24 hour perinatologists, neonatologists, and anesthesiologists. Our goal is to give safe and compassionate care. We strive to make sure our patients and families have a positive experience in the birth of their child.

The RN coordinates patient care planning with other d! isciplines utilizing the principles of the nursing process and! critical thinking skills in order to maintain patient safety and wellâ€"being. (Some positions might be assigned to critical care areas requiring specialized training.)MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION: Graduation from a qualified, nationallyâ€"accredited nursing program. (Some positions may require additional training related to specific skill area)EXPERIENCE: One year of nursing experience in an acute care setting preferred. (Some positions may require additional experience related to specific skill area) LICENSURE OR CERTIFICATION: Current RN licensure permitting work in the State of Arizona and Current Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).

Some departments such as OR, Ambulatory Surgery and Pediatrics will require advanced life support certification (ACLS and PALS). (Additional certification may be required for some specialties, such as EP certification from International Board of Heart Rhythm Examiners for Special Competency in Cardiac Electrophysiology for th! e Associated Professional, or equivalent certification.) For Hospice, Mental Health, & Pediatrics areas, valid Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card within 6 months of hire and for Mental Health only preferred hospital approved Non Violent Crisis Intervention Training Program.Because it is important for healthcare providers to promote a healthy environment and lifestyle, Tucson Medical Center has implemented a tobaccoâ€"free hiring policy.
