Position Information

Performs a variety of clerical work, including the receipt and handling of monies as a substantial, recurring assignment; and performs other related duties as required.

Current Vacancy: There are four (4) vacancies with the Department of Parks and Recreation, East Honolulu District I. The position is located at Hanauma Bay Nature Preserve. Work hours are Wednesday - Sunday, 6:15 AM - 2:45 PM (Off Mondays, Tuesdays). This position performs the duties of collecting fees at the Hanauma Bay Nature Preserve Visitor Center collection window and the public parking collection booth and performs other related duties.

Special Working Conditions: May work weekends, evenings and holidays. Will serve as a Disaster Response Worker during declared emergencies.

Minimum Qualification Requirements

At the time of application, you must be a citizen, national, or permanent resident alien of the United States or a non-citizen eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:
Equivalent to graduation from high school. Responsible work experience that demonstrated the ability to perform the essential functions of the job may be substituted for education.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:
One year of clerical experience involving the posting of information onto records, forms, or reports; or reviewing, checking, sorting, and filing records, forms, or reports.


Preferred Experience: Cashier

Substitution: Business school or college level credits from a regionally-accredited college or university will substitute for experience on a month-for-month basis.

Education obtained outside of the United States must be comparable to a degree earned at a regionally-accredited college/university in the United States. In order to receive credit for the education, a foreign credential evaluation (FCE) must be provided. We also reserve the right to request further information about your academic program, evidence of comparability, or an original transcript.

Verification Requirement: You must submit evidence of your education in order to be given credit for the substitution. Please attach an electronic copy of your diploma and/or official transcript which shows the embossed seal or applicable FCE to your application.
