Yellowknife Education District No. 1 invites applications for the following term position:
Land-Based Learning and Cultural Support Worker
2023/2024 School year
Full-time (100% FTE) Term
Grade levels JK-8
The successful candidate will provide an on-the-land, child-led learning experience that encourages the development of the whole child. Emphasis is placed on connection with the self, each other, and the land through outdoor learning activities that encourage self-confidence, self-regulation, resilience, and working with peers.
The ideal candidate will have experience with working in cultural programming at the JK to 8 level, have a knowledge of the Wiilideh or Tlicho languages and have strong communication and organizational skills.
Candidates must have an original acceptable Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) in place. The original VSC must be dated within 90 days of the date the application is received. This is a condition of employment, and must be in place prior to commencing work in any school.
