For detail informations about this occupation opportunity kindly see the descriptions. General Position Summary: Responsible for maintaining anesthesia machines and supplies for the anesthesiologist. Assures, within scope of knowledge, that the ane! sthesia machines and equipment are in good working order. Orders and maintains supplies as needed. Assists in the perioperative care of surgical patients under the direction of an anesthesiologist/RN within job role.Essential Functions / Major Responsibilities: •Maintains established departmental policies and procedures including those that govern confidentiality, objectives, quality assurance program, risk management/safety, environmental and infection control standards.•Maintains and coordinates anesthesia equipment and supplies.•Maintains a safe, comfortable and therapeutic environment for patient/families in accordance with hospital standards.•Assists physicians with examinations, procedures and other processes related to direct patient care.•Functions as a resource person for procedures and/or equipment relating to anesthesia.•Communicates effectively with anesthesiologist, nursing staff and physicians.•Assists in patient care related activities by provid! ing comfort and support for perioperative patients by demonstr! ating sensitivity to patients†care and privacy.•Organizes and delivers various items and drugs utilized to surgical suite; orders all drugs and disposables used in the anesthesia department.•Assembles EKG pads, (oximeter, monitor, temp probe, laryngoscope and blades, thermal blankets and electric blanket).•Maintains anesthesia machines, equipment and carts, recharge equipment disassemble and clean gas machines daily.•Restocks E.T tubes and drugs on room cart and anesthesia storage area, keep IV fluid stocked in warmer and change soda lime canisters as needed.•Changes mask and tubing on machines after each surgical case; assists anesthesia provider in setting up equipment and supplies as needed.•Assists with transfer of patient to appropriate areas; assists in positioning of patient on OR table.
